Plant protection

Agrame has developed a series of plant protectors     - Read more
Agrame has developed a series of plant protectors which are designed to prevent damage to seedlings from small rodents. Rodents represent one of the most serious treats to seedlings planted areas characterized by heavy ground cover. In order to survive, these seedlings need to be protected. A wide variety of rodents, including voles, feed on ground cover and will also attack the seedlings. Surprisingly most of the damage causes by the voles occurs from one small bite into the bark approximately 2-5 cm (1-2 inches) above the ground surface. This small bite allows mycelial spores to enter the affected plant slowly spreading a fungal infection. In most cases, the full damage caused by the fungal infection is not discovered until many years later when mature tree is harvested.
